We bought a Ford Transit custom SWB van on the 11th of November 2024 at 69k miles (69,242) for almost £7,800 including VAT and after the driver had done under 5,000 miles on it at 74,090 on the 18th of December the engine warning light came on. Then next adblue started malfunctioning. We topped up and keep topping but it continued showing adblue is not enough. Then on the 20th of December the driver notified us that he noticed that the horn was not working and that it hasn't been working for almost two weeks since he started but forget to inform us. He sent a video to proof this. Prior to all of this, we have tried reaching these guys on phone to ask for the waranty cover which came with the sale of the van but they often ignore our calls and never calls back. To cut the long story short, we ended up paying £200 to fix the adblue problem and after 3 working days of the van back on the road, battery red light came on this was now 16th of January 2025. We thought it was a minor issue. Only to find out that van is as good as gone. Essentially, almost £8k gone within two months and having done around 8-9k miles. We have contacted over 10 garages in Coventry but they have all turned down the job saying they can't fix it including Ford specialists. The alternator broke off the head of the bracket. The 6 bolts were essentially loose/damaged before we bought the van for that to have happened so quickly. The mechanic said the fault was there already before the van was purchased. The mechanic advised that the van is as good as selling for scrap. We have contacted Dablundell car sales about this and they promised to connect us with an engine welder but has never done so up till today (two weeks now). They claimed that because we did 8k miles in two months that anything could possibly happen to the van. But the engine warning ⚠️ light came on at under 5k miles. Next action will be to go to consumer rights and recover the £7,800 we paid to buy a broken van from these guys. Couriers do far more than 5k miles a month and nothing has happened to their van. They said that the van was from BT but I found out that the last registered keeper of the van is a vehicle hire company in Grays.

I dealt with Paul and had a great experience from start to finish when buying my Mercedes. The car is excellent and Paul included a quality 6 months warranty. Buy with confidence, I would definitely use again.
My new car was MOT'd by DA Blundell prior to collection, very shortly (literally the next day) after purchase I noticed a knocking noise every time I braked. Needless to say one of the pads was hanging in by a thread. Not only was this dangerous to me and my family it could have caused other road users lethal consequences too My advice get an independent check and never rely on the garage to say they have done something to a safe standard. My polite calls / messages were ignored. Hence the review. Such a shame
No nonsense, efficient and flexible. I'd highly recommend Paul and the Garage.

Just bought a Lexus RX450H from Paul and from onset you get the feeling that you are talking to a perfect gentleman, for me it went as smooth as a hot knife through butter. So will definitely come back again in the near future and will definitely recommend Blundells to my friends and family.

Having worked directly for a car manufacturer in the past and having been used to getting brand new cars then, the purchasing of a second hand car is always a worrying challenge: approached with trepidation as you do not know if you are buying a potential 'pig in a poke' with lots of problems. As important is how you will be treated by the dealer both in pre and post sales. Dealing with Dave and Paul of D A Blundell Car Sales I need not have worried. I found from start to finish the deal was handled professionally, courteously and pleasantly. In summary. We had a very good part exchange offer for my wife's 13 year old car The car she was looking to buy had a few minor dints and paintwork blemishes - all of which were sorted out without any quibble. The actual handover sale on the premises was carried out strictly following the government guidelines for the Corona Virus, including valeting and quarantining the car for 3 days due to a personal health worry; Only one key fob was available at the vehicle handover so Dave contacted the previous owner and obtained the second one for us. I can only speak about our experience, We purchased an 8 year old, low mileage Mini Cooper. It was one of the cheapest cars for sale on the premises, but it has been turned out in a lovely condition. We are very pleased with the deal and how well we have been treated. Thank you Dave and Paul - and not forgetting Kevin for the valeting. (PS. My wife is really enjoying her new car).
