Something has definitely gone on in hunters derby land rover in the last few months, the staff have changed for the better, customer service is fantastic, more of the same please.
Had a test drive in a Discovery Sport after being contacted by Hunters following an enquiry via Carwow. Was impressed with car but the offer made by Hunters via Carwow did not correspond to the figures given to us after the test drive. Went home to digest information and telephoned Hunters asking them to explain the figures as we just couldn't understand them. The salesman said that he would speak to his business manager and get back to us as I don't think he could understand them either. Did not receive a call back despite telephoning again. Will stay clear of this company in the future. I am sure the initial offer made via Carwow just did not exist.

Painful experience so far - Hunters Land Rover Derby - Stay away from them. They are selling faulty cars. On 1st March 2017 I was delighted to receive my new 17 plate Range Rover Sports HSE. On March 25th (within thirty days of purchase) I reported some issues and the car was booked in to be checked on 4th April at Hunters Land Rover Derby. The DVD player did not always work, the time taken for the HDMI cable to connect to the iPhone and show on the screen was unacceptable, and the USB slots were faulty. The team had my car for two days (4th and 5th April). I was advised on 5th April that the DVD player issue would not be dealt with as it worked every time in the service centre. The docking station was replaced, but this has made no difference to the HDMI and USB slots: the problems remain. All three problems were witnessed by the service manager and my sales consultant, while I was there to collect the car. I was advised by the service manager that you do not have the required expertise for the work required and will have to involve Land Rover. I requested a letter to confirm that I was taking the car back without it being fixed and I believe this was a reasonable request. I was then introduced to after sales manager, whom I found to be exceptionally rude. He took me into his office with my sales consultant and service manager. He offered no apology and I found him to be aggressive; his tone and attitude were very intimidating. He was not happy that I was reporting faults and needed my concerns to be addressed. Despite my repeated request, he refused to give me any document confirming that the car had not been fixed and repeatedly stated that they would need to book the car in again and that he had nothing more to say. I asked him how the issues would be fixed when his own service manager had advised me that they do not have the expertise: his response was that that was ‘just his opinion’ and he did not agree with his service manager, although the service manager was present in the room. I felt insulted and asked for a senior member of the branch to step in: the response I received was that after sales manager was in charge and his word was final. Feeling under pressure by three people in a closed room, I agreed to your service manager's suggestion and booked the car in again, giving them a week this time. I left the office somewhat upset and in a state of shock. My sales consultant apologised for his after sales manager behaviour, obviously recognising that the way he had treated me was unacceptable. The stress of a brand new £68k car being faulty is affecting my family and work life. I added the DVD feature worth nearly £3k for my children, but at the moment they sit in the back disappointed, holding the headphones and remote and asking me why it doesn’t work. I have no answer for them. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with any Land Rover team member.

Recently purchased a 4 month old discovery 4 from hunters Derby. I live in kings Lynn and did the deal over the phone. The salesman was Trevor Bailey and he was excellent. A great trade in price, phoned me back on time when required to do so. No spare key but Trevor arranged for me to pick one up at hunters kings Lynn.................all sorted. It's just a pity that I have to go up north every time I buy a car.......Can not get a deal in Norfolk.........Bmw, Volkswagen, Audi and Mercedes.........all previous cars purchased up north.......why? Anyway, thanks Trevor Bailey.

I really regret buying from Hunters Derby. On collection, they told me they'd lost the spare key to a new car, but would get a replacement in the post to me immediately. First, they sent one to a neighbour's house by mistake. When they managed the right address with a second key, I took it for programming to a nearer dealership, arranged and agreed with Hunters Derby. The programming failed and bricked the car, so it hasn't been able to move from the dealership for over 2 weeks. Hunters attitude? It's not their problem. Up to me to sort out. Worst customer service I've ever had from a car dealer. Wouldn't consider buying anything from them again.
Excellent business, I highly recommend Hunters Land Rover and all of their staff, they sold me a fantastic car with a smile and made me fully aware of the ins and outs, the car was sold to me exactly as described with no nasty surprises, all round I'm very satisfied.
