DO NOT BUY FROM AFFORDABLE CARS DRIFFIELD So as a first time driver i thought i would get my first car from Affordable cars in Driffield.. Day one was a perfect Adrian was a true gent sold me the car Renault modus i left feeling wonderful... Then three days in i get a gear problem, its jerking when changing gear, and error gear box is shown on dash screen.. so i ring Adrian to tell him, i am told not to worry as they will give me a car to use as they look in to my problem and sort it, so i am given a another car to use, told they will ring when its ready, 3 days pass know news from them so i ring to found out what's happening, Adrian tells me it on the ramp as we speak, this seems good as its been sorted, another day passes so instead i ring the garage, however they tell me its not even been looked at and Adrian should not give out false promises, kind of feeling let down i give it another day, however Adrian rings me to tell me its ready for me to come pick it up from them... i go pick my car up drive away feeling pretty good to have my car back.. Five days later bang the gear box goes again, on my way to go see Affordable cars Driffield yet again i have another problem my driver side window goes down on its own and stays down, once i am at Affordable cars Driffield i see Nick this time the manager who seem very friendly and tells me i will have to take another car to use and he will get me a new gear box fitted and sort the driver window out, and as a bonus he will give 6 extra months cover, so i drive away yet again in another car i did not buy, i am told two weeks max with out my car, two weeks pass no call so i ring and i am told a few more days yet, as its not quiet going to plan, ok i wait a few more days, three weeks i get my car back, gear box seemed ok, however driver window not fixed told he ordered wrong part? and will get sorted soon, nine days pass and bang gear box worse then ever, i cannot drive more than 30 mph until the engine is up to temp or the gear box will not work at all, I ring Adrian to tell him, he tells me he has been on forums and can see its a problem Renault modus has and to bear with it, i do this for over a month feeling pretty let down that my first car has such a problem. I gets to such a point i have to take it back to Affordable cars Driffield, Adrian is not there and Nick is in a meeting, i see a younger member of staff who tells me why don't i sell them my car back and get another? this is not quite the answer i wanted, i ask to speak to Nick who at this point wont come talk to me, told there is nothing he can do for me, feel angry now at this point i demand to speak to Nick who this time comes to talk to me, he tells me i can come for another car next week as he nothing for me right now and will put another new gear box in as the other must me faulty, so i drive away yet again, on the following Thursday i drive back to Affordable cars in Driffield, this time the gear box warning wont turn off so i show Adrian the warning, he says not only can he see it he can smell burning gear box oil, he gives me a car to use, told he cannot give me a time scale on when my car will be fixed but to give him a ring from time to time, i ask him should i sell my car back would i get what i paid for it as the problem i have is not my fault and i may just start again with another car i had seen that they had for sale for the same price i paid for my car, he tells me yes i would get full price given the trouble i have had. Now the car i was give was a joke to use, it pulled to the left as if it had been hit or in a crash at some point, the passenger window came down but would not go up unless you pull it up, it had mould growing on the inside, it was damp in the car so had to use towels on the seats, it was full of dirt and i mean dirt, now bear in mind this car was for sale as it was on the web site, now putting all that to a side i kept ringing Affordable cars in Driffield every three days each day been told nothing yet, two weeks pass, Adrian tells me its been road tested, fab i think i am getting it back, i ring only to be told it did not work and valve is been fitted this time, ok i will let you fix what needs fixing, five days pass, now Adrian tells me they are waiting for a new gear box to come? now i am confused as he said a valve is been fitted, but i let it go and think well its getting fixed, three days pass and nothing so i ring every day now as i want my car back, on the third day of calling Adrian tells me it fixed but i can come pick my car up in three days time as they would like to road test it, ok so i give it three days and ring Adrian who tells me my car is ready to pick up, off i go to pick my car up. Now when i get to Affordable cars in Driffield i am shocked to see Adrian, Nick who is sat behind a desk, a lady sat near to Nick and another man sat other end of sale room, Adrian takes me out side with my keys and asks me to sign paper work to say i am taking car without it been road tested, i ask why would i sign paper work for this, he tells me they had no time to road test it, but should they be a problem i will still get a full refund for my car, so i go back in to the sales room to Nick to say i will sign but i am not happy but as i will get full refund on car i will sign there paper work, Nick tells me there is no chance i will get a refund, i tell him Adrian has told me twice now that i will, Adrian tells mw he said no such thing, i am shocked at this and tell them i would then have to seek legal advice then should i need a refund, Nick now tells me to F*** Off and never come back, shocked again i tell him i will if he give me £500 of the £2,700 i paid for my car i will go away and sort any problems i get with the car in the future, he laughs and tells me my car is not even worth £500, i leave as i see no point in arguing in a losing battle with all his witnesses around him,, my guess is i was played on this day, they got my money and got what they wanted, to never see me again.... Just as a heads up, on my way home i had a major oil leak, how ever i got this fixed and sorted my self... DO NOT BUY FROM AFFORDABLE CARS DRIFFIELD

Brilliant and helpful staff. They are called affordable for a reason. I love my car to bits I couldnt be happier if I tried.

Not knowing much about cars or what I was really looking for, Daniel couldn't have been more helpful. He explained everything to me and was very patient. Service was second to none and I would highly recommend going to see him if you are looking for a car. Thanks so much.

Sorted my Gran out with a lovely little run around and she's over the moon with it. The lads were very helpful and even included a service and a warranty. Will be using them myself in the future.
