Had a wicked experience with purchasing my RS3 from Autotrade south west, originally I found a A35 when arriving at the dealer ship I noticed loads of stock I didn’t realise they had they let me test drive this rs3 that made up my mind, I later collected my car a few days later, definitely recommend auto trade south west!!

Appalling service, as well as selling a faulty car. Now removing themselves from any warranty connections. Do not touch with a barge pole. I think the reviews on this site say enough.

AGAIN WHERE DO I START - found the car on motors.co.uk arranged a viewing, for the following weekend. Did not realise you had to state that you wanted to drive the car away that day! ( my bad) accept that, even though the dealer knew I was travelling form 2.5 hours away . Anyway arrived to the garage with, thank god a manager of a car dealership /garage. The drivers side passenger door, broken so could not get in the car, when we gained entry service light on, engine management light on, Not a good start!! anyway test drove it and so did the trained mechanic that accompanied me. Turns out the car needed several maintenance jobs doing before it was worthy of 9k being spent on it. The mechanic I took with me, explained the list of jobs it needed before placing a deposit. The list of jobs were recorded by one of the salesman and a copy of the works to be carried out attached to my documentation on receipt of the £500 deposit. Not to mention the shoddy customer service on arrival did not get offered a coffee just made to feel like we were an inconvenience. Any way deposit paid with the promise the list of jobs were to be completed on pick up which was 7 days after I had been to view the car. (the following weekend) I called the dealership 48 hours prior to picking the car up to be told all the jobs had been completed, however the passenger side door handle had now broke and they wanted to fix that before handing the car over to me, I agreed. They informed me the parts wouldn't arrive until closer to the end of the following week, (annoying as I had sold my form transport as I was told 7 days) Anyway good job I have a very good friend in the industry who could accommodate my needs and provide a curtsey car. Night before the pick up of my new car I had called and was reassured that all relevant works had been completed and agreed time of pick up (now 2 weeks after viewing the car) was all ok to collect and the already stated work had been completed. It would be ready to collect at 2pm. We arrive at the dealership to not be greeted and in fact left for over 45 minutes and not even spoke to. We decide to have a walk around and look at some cars (kill some time) and then i realised i couldn't see the car that I had brought. After about an hour and a half the car arrives. It hadn't been cleaned and instantly my Friend had noticed the front fog light had not been fixed. Again we were told that the car was ready to go just hours before arriving. Then whilst sat waiting because they told us it needed to be cleaned we were also told the brakes hadn't been done which was also a job on the list to complete before pick up. Cut a long story short, your treated like a no one, they say they are going to send you away with a decent car and get the jobs done that need doing and they don't . They did knock £100.00 off but that is nothing when the brakes needed doing and they said they were going to do it, got halfway down the motorway and no screen wash, also jets were blocked, battery went flat after about 5 days of me having it and all the work they said they were going to do they did not! Luckily for me I have a best mate who is a mechanic. EVERYONE ELSE DONT TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE
I purchased a 2017 BMW for over £11,000 from this "dealership" on 9th Dec 2022. The car stopped working before I even managed to get it home. I had a qualified mechanic run a diagnostic on the lump of metal. It showed that not only had the car not been properly serviced prior to sale (contrary to the dealersips policy), it had so many faults I needed to take numerous photos to capture them. This was the best part of my experience with the Del Boy crew. I immediately phoned the dealership and spoke to the salesman who had sold me the thing. He wanted me to drive the undriveable vehicle back to the dealership so they could carry out tests. After several telphone calls, and emails (all from me as the dealership not once picked up the phone to contact me) they eventually agreed to recover the vehicle, but not straight away! It took over 4 weeks for them to collect the dead car. Needless to say, I no longer wanted it due to dreadful customer service , plus the fact that it is an unworking lump of metal on wheels. I am now faced with reluctance from them in returning the money I paid for what they claimed to be a relable, working car. I have spent hundreds on taxi fares, hiring vehicles and train fares. I have paid for car insurance etc., but the vehicle they sold me is no-where to be found - being tested! I have sent over a dozen emails and called them over and over but they have show no interest or concern that I have been put through this horrendous ordeal. I have logged a complaint with the finance company. I don't believe I'm alone in having the most diabolical of experiences with this crew. All you need to do is Google "Autotrade Southwest review" and you will find dozens and dozens of recent reviews lambasting this dealership and the people working for it.

Please don’t use these cowboys, purchased Audi q5 4 weeks later automatic gearbox packed in. Phoned them they said phone the warranty company Blackstar Warrenties. OMG they wanted me to pay rescue charges and diagnostic charges then if the problem fits the criteria they woul pay max£500. Got the car back to the garage they want £2000 to repair in their own workshop or they said I could go and pick the car up and sort it myself. I’ve spoken to Consumer advise they have reported it to trading standards and also advised I let the finance company know, who have advised they will put a complaint in and for me to contact the motor ombudsman which I have. Best advice just don’t go there

Absolutely shocking experience with Autotrade Southwest. Bought a car from them and after 1,000 miles heard a gurgling noise from the engine. When I took it to my local garage, they replaced the water pump because it had completely seized and had been GLUED TOGETHER WITH TWO MISSING BOLTS, and I was told it shouldn’t have passed it’s MOT because of the condition of the car. On the final trip I made before taking it to the garage, the noise became unbearable whilst driving home and by the time I got back from an hours trip, there was smoke/steam coming out from under the bonnet. I called them and they told me they sold the car “in good faith”, and the guy I spoke to was so rude and dismissive that they had sold this car in this condition. I would never usually say this about a place as we all have our own experiences and off-days, but please avoid this place; when parts of the car are glued together, they don’t care about the safety of the driver.

Found through autotrader & wanted to view a car there.. Was advised I had to pay £100 to guarantee car was there. As I lived so far away I wanted to ensure I didn't have a wasted journey. Spoke to a lady who was nice whilst taking my money. I asked if the £100 was refundable, she advised yes it is. I paid, under those circumstances. I asked for a value on my car to decide whether to put it in part ex or sell privately, had a call back from Mark who advised me my car was worth £1,200 when every other garage had offered me £3,400. I then found a car very close to home which was the same as I was looking for and had offered me £3,400 in. PX. Contacted this garage to advise them I would not be visiting as I have found a car closer to home who are offering double the value for part ex and was advised I would not get my £100 back. Mark gave me an email address and advised me to send an email to "head office", who have not replied to any of my emails and unable to get hold of them by telephone. I am now working with citizens advice to see the best way forward with this complaint and will be taking it further. Wish I read the reviews prior to paying this money. Absolute cowboys!!! Have to give 1*s as there is no zero but this company certainly does not even deserve a 1* for their appalling service, for giving false information and misleading customers.

Steve in response to Avoid!!Poor service and rip offs
Wish I had read more reviews than just auto trader which gives a 5 star review. Wonder why that is ? Friends and family posting reviews is my opinion
Purchased my golf got tdi nearly 2 years ago great car I pointed a couple of things out when I got the car and they had straight back sorted it with no problems love the car
Bought an Audi A4 a year ago it lasted 10 weeks and 1000 miles engined failed ATSW at first didn’t want to know .I wrote a poor review on another site .I had a phone call immediately asking to remove said review as it made them look bad . Unfortunately for me I never got the written confirmation I asked for before I removed it. When asking what a replacement meant they were very elusive .I found a replacement albeit 2500 more expensive and asked if I could pay the difference again no straight answer.Eventually my patience ran out so I threatened legal action . I received a phone call from Phil who claimed to know nothing about it .I explained he said he would get back to me .He never .Eventually they said I could have the car but it would cost me £5000 meaning I would be paying £10000 for a £7500 which would of left me £2500 out of pocket They constantly avoided my phone calls and emails . Im leaving a 1 star review as I can’t give zero

Did you get this resolved in the end? I've just posted my experience with these cowboys and are now taking legal action against them.
