After having emailed through Autotrader expressing a wish to buy a Mercedes at £12,500, I got no reply so I phoned the next day. The phone was answered with a "Hello" - I had to ask if this was the Old Welwyn Car Company. Once I finally got through to him which car I was interested in, he was unsure of colour - Website said Silver - He called it Grey. When I asked if there was anything he could tell me about the car the answer was "It's still for Sale". Then I thought I'll check reviews - I am in Glasgow and was going to Travel to Buy - NOT ANY MORE!! - If something Sounds Too good to be True...............
When I arrived I had to look for the salesman by myself walking around the building. When I saw somebody I went to him to ask about the owner of this place or anyone to show me the car I am interested in. Turned out that it was him, he didn't even said hi to me, was kinda surprised that someone is bothering him at all. I asked him about the car, he let me into the office, simply gave me the keys and didn't even bother to walk with me to the vehicle. Well I went by myself, sat in the car, looked around (it was dirty, ash from cigarettes everywhere, dust, sand etc). Car seemed to be ok apart from being dirty. I went back to the "office", but I couldn't talk to the "salesman" because he was dealing with something else at the moment. I gave him back the keys, he was silent all this time. I asked him about details about the car, he showed my a piece of paper with the MOT and previous owner. Still silent. I left the place sad because I really liked the car but it was so weird and awful. I felt like I had to beg him to sell me this car. I get better customer service from a ticket machine on the train station. Just awful, don't go there.
I wish i had read these reviews before contacting them, they promise to negotiate list price when enquire over phone but when they know customer came by travelling over 100 miles then they are very rude, no negotiation and not helpfull at all.
I was sold a car without a user manual and told I would have to pay Hermes to collect and deliver it to myself. The car has also not had a full service. Very disappointed and I would not recommend this dealership
If you intend to travel any distance to view a car at this place do not bother even if they say it's in stock! They had the exact car I was looking for listed at a slightly high but not unreasonable price so I thought it would be worth driving the extra mile to view it. A quick phone call confirmed the car was still in stock so I booked an appointment to view it before taking the rest of the day off work and driving an hour and a half to pay them a visit. Upon arrival the last behind the counter acknowledged she knew who I was and was expecting me before making a half baked effort to look through some paper work to find the car key and documents. Then she tells me someone must have sold it. I had specifically checked its availability, asked for a phone call back if it did before I got there and gone well it off my way to get there only to find that the incompetent baffoon had not physically checked the car was there and had instead just checked their website listing! Absolutely shocking customer service with not so much as an apology for the significant inconvenience I was caused. I will not be making the effort again but maybe it's for the best as if that's the level of service offered when buying a car I would hate to think what it would be like dealing with any subsequent issues!
Called the company at 10am to enquire if the car (Mercedes E class £17,000) I had see on Autotrader was still available. I was told the car was there and I made an appointment to view the car at 12:30. I then drove 60 miles to the garage to find that the owner was not there and he had the keys, as "he takes them home with him". I was told that he would be there in 5 minutes so I went off into the local village to get a cup of tea. When I returned at 12:40 I was told he would not be there until 14:30. So I went away and came back at 14:30, he was still not there. I waited until 15:00 and then left. I am a bit perplexed by this company. I waited for two and a half hours to buy a car with £17,000 in cash in my pocket and the owner didn't seem to want to know. Total waste of a day. My recommendation would be to not waste your time with this unprofessional outfit.
Shocking service. The salesman that I was dealt with by was so rude and abrupt! Absolutely no customer service skills what so ever. If I hadn't of liked and wanted the car so much I would have been straight out of the door. I wouldn't recommend this dealership at all.

I have bought blue bmw 3 series in February and I was given 6 month warranty for the car. Went abroad, the gear box went wrong. When I returned I brought the car to the dealer and the gear box was replaced for free. I was delighted about that! Customer service is brilliant! Thanks!
The man at Old Welwyn motor was very helpful and really accommodating, he stayed open late for me to view the car and despite the late time he gave me keys for test drive. Overall, a very positive experience, great price, great service. I highly recommend this dealership.
I was looking for Mercedes C class for a month, however, I couldn't find what I really wanted: good condition and price at the same time. I found it at old Welwyn motor dealer in white colour. I really love my car! I do not understand previous reviews as the service was quite good and a manager was polite and helpful. He even advices me to pay from debit card and to not be charged extra percentages from credit card. Everything was quick and perfect. I would recommend this dealer to friends!
